Current Career: Currently, I am a Sales Manager at Entertainment Cruises in Washington DC! I absolutely love my career and I feel that it has truly helped me become a better businesswoman and has given me great networking opportunities, given me an insight on finance, as well as a better hold on building and maintaining client relationships.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I LOVED living in Toronto Ontario, it is by far my favorite place that I have lived in. However, I would definitely love to own a home in Dubai, the Caribbean, and Switzerland.

What is the best advice you have been given? Don’t let anyone rain on your positive parade. Each day we have a choice to be happy… we can never control the actions of other people, but we can always control our own actions… Choose to be happy each day…

Who is your role model and why? I am lucky enough to have two role models. My mother and my father. Although my mother passed away when I was 13, I still consider her a role model to me because she helped to teach me the morals and values that I have for my life. My mother was a very caring woman and only wished the best for others. Even down to her final hours, she kept reminding me that although she was going on to a different place, that I should always strive hard for what we want in life and to always pursue higher education. My father is also my role model because he has truly been a best friend to me. My father has shown me the true definition of unconditional love. I am his only daughter and the youngest, and I am so thankful that my dad chose to teach me the value of work ethic rather than spoiling me and giving me handouts. He has helped me be the successful and striving corporate woman that I am today and he has always encouraged me to strive for my goals and to inspire others as well… (and he gives the BEST, most SINCERE holiday cards ever)

Something interesting about you: I am a proud member of the Nu Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, a Community Conscious, Action Oriented Organization. I have been blessed enough to have the opportunity to be a part of a superior sisterhood that has helped me and is continuing to play a crucial part in shaping me to be a successful woman that gives back to my community. ZPHIB. I love my Sorors.

Three words that best describe you: Determined, Community-Oriented, Genuine

After this book, I am moving on to “50 Jobs in 50 States: One Man’s Journey of Discovery Across America” by Daniel Seddiqui.

Favorite TV Show: I don’t actually have time to really watch TV, but recently I’ve been making time on Thursday nights for…. SCANDAL! I love Olivia Pope!

Favorite Food: I LOVE my Caribbean cuisine… My favorite food ever is Jerked Chicken with extra Oxtail Gravy, rice and peas with festival on the side! LOVE IT!

Favorite Sport: I have a love for a few sports. As a former cheerleader, I can understand and appreciate this sport most! But, I love Basketball! I love International Leagues and the NBA…. I could never forget about the team that I love that represents where I currently live.. GO REDSKINS!
