Mrs. Corporate America Lulu Orange Tyson

Scholastic Achievement/Community Involvement:

I hold a Bachelors in Communication from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Business Administration from Florida International University. I am also a Nurse Liaison for Rehabilitation Centers in South Florida. My Community Work is geared towards “Investing In Our Youth for A Better Tomorrow!” Through mentorship, empowerment and community service, I would like to instill positive core values in our youth, so that they can be successful in their future personal endeavors. I have mentored many young ladies to not only achieve their dreams in obtaining a crown, but have inspired them to pursue their career aspirations. As a result, many of the girls I have mentored are working in some of the top law firms in the country, have become media personalities, teachers and the list goes on. I am truly honored to have mentors in my life, growing up from Haitian immigrant parents. Pageantry has opened many doors for me and has taught me valuable skills such as confidence, public speaking skills and the importance of giving back and being a role model for young women. Professionally it has also assisted me in excelling in my role as a Nurse Liaison by spreading compassion for others. Currently, I am a motivational speaker spreading a message of love, acceptance and hope.

Professional Organizations:

Haitian American Nurses Association, Real Women on The Move, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?:

Although I am very content with where I live currently, the Sunshine State (none other than Florida), if I had a choice, I probably would live in Hawaii. Hawaii is special to me because it’s where my husband and I chose as our Honeymoon destination. The people were so calm, carefree and the beaches were so beautiful. I am not a fan of cold weather, so Hawaii is perfect because the temperature rarely rises above 90 degrees and rarely drops below 65 degrees.

If you could meet anyone in the world, who would they be?:

I would love to meet Oprah. Oprah is the epitome of what I stand for as a person. She continuously inspires people to be their best self and that’s what I do on a daily basis. She has overcome so many obstacles and adversities in her life but she continued to persevere. I came close in meeting her once. I won tickets to her “Life You Want” tour and it was life changing. I see myself doing what she does someday on that scale.

Best advice you have been given:

“Never Give Up, no matter how many times you fall.” This advice has helped me get through life. I may not have achieved some goals the first time but eventually, I did. This speaks to my drive and determination to achieve my goals. I tried to achieve the Mrs. Corporate America title two times before obtaining the title this year. I also would add – “never think you are a failure.” When it’s your time, it’s your time, so don’t get discouraged. We don’t fail at things, we learn.

Who is your role model and why?

My primary role model is my mother. She is the reason why I am the person I am today. She taught me so many core values that is the reason why I am successful today. In the media, I look up to women like Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Oprah. Although all these ladies have their expertise in different industries, they have one thing in common and that’s women empowerment and I am all about that. I love inspiring women to aspire to be great.

Something interesting about you:

I am President of my own company Lulu Orange, Inc and launched my own clothing/beauty line L’Orange Couture. For the past five years, I gave out five Scholarships to graduating seniors, seeking to pursue their collegiate studies. Most recently, I developed the Pageant Role Models organization, which empowers women to love the skin that they are in; exposing them to industry professionals who will teach workshops on topics such as interview skills, etiquette classes etc. My recent protégé was the 2016 Miss Haiti Universe Raquel Pelissier, which made it all the way to 1st runner up at the Miss Universe pageant. As a motivational speaker and author, my most recent work titled “Greatness Lies Within You” is an eGuide that outlines 10 Steps to Success that will give people tools to succeed goals, while encouraging others to be the best that they can be.
